Saturday Morning Interior Design Tag Sale

This Saturday our friends at Vanessa Squared Productions (interior designer Vanessa De Vargas and design editor Vanessa Kogevinas) are hosting their third High-End Designer Tag Sale shopping event in Brentwood. Think a high-end garage sale with professional advice from some of the best interior designers in Venice and Santa Monica.

The Designer Tag Sale is an upscale interior designer yard/tag sale hosted by Fyndes and Little Castle Productions that will feature over thirty of Los Angeles’ top interior designers and stores/vendors selling items including small furniture such as side-tables, lamps, rugs, pillows, art, accessories and more at incredibly low prices—from $5-$200 only!
I’ll be djing as well (New Berlin), and suggest you show up bright and early. Professional shoppers might want to camp out at 8am. — Seriously.

TONIGHT : Baron Von Luxxury & Midnight Juggernauts @ The Echo

Our friend Baron Von Luxxury from Disco Workout is playing the Echo in Echo Park tonight w/ Midnight Juggernauts, and we at Teleportdoor can’t recommend it more.
As a DJ I’ve been poaching mp3s from Barron’s website for like 3 years now, and after seeing his band live earlier this summer I promise you’ll love it. And NO you can’t bring your gat.
Here’s a great BVL HEALTH remix worth downloading right now, along with a fun MJ video below.

Weekend heatwave relief in sight
This time of year, it’s difficult to navigate the streets of Los Angeles proper without suntan lotion and your car’s AC on blast. We’re just rebounding from an oppressive heatwave last week that keeps Angelinos from doing what they love most — namely enjoying the outdoors and exploring the town for new haunts, and can expect cooler weather and heads this weekend at last.
Here are our recommendations below:
FRIDAY JULY 23
Robyn and Kelis All Heart Tour (concert)
The Music Box
6126 Hollywood Blvd.
My future ex-wife Robyn is headlining with Nas’ ex-wife Kelis. Both just released stellar albums that remind me of Madonna’s Confessions on a Dance Floor. Count me in.
SATURDAY JULY 24
Renegade Craft Fair 2010 (event)
July 24–25
FREE : Daily (11am–7pm)
Los Angeles State Historic Park
1245 N Spring St
DIY hipster clothes and furniture all in one of my favorite parks in LA.
SUNDAY JULY 25
Silverlake Art, Craft & Vintage & Food-Truck Block Party
FREE Saturday July 24 (10am–4pm) & Sunday July 25 (10am–4pm)
Ghettogloss

Along with art, you get a fine selection of LA based food trucks, selling more than just tacos. I’ve noticed that many are run by restaurants offering bite sized versions of their best menu items.

Neiliyo ‘Springtime’ single (free)

Neiliyo – Springtime by neiliyo
Here at Teleportdoor, we have a habit of big-upping our friends and kin-folks that make us smile. And under no exception is our friend Neiliyo, one of our first interns in good old Austin days, all grown up and funky.
We swear, Neil needs to have his own kids show.. like now.
Stay tuned for info on his upcoming shows while touring in LA later this summer.
Purple Beats

Last night I finally got to catch dinner with Stephen R, and our friends Isla and Jared from Purple Crush at 101 Diner in Hollywood. Expect some fun new party collabos to pop off this summer involving the 4 of us soon.

how do you say tapas in korean?

K-town’s underground tapas scene is like visiting the future – if, in the future, everyone speaks Korean and hangs out in hazy dive bars known for spicy late night kimchi and ass-flooring dragon juice.
Straight out from some steampunk chapter of Bladerunner’s Los Angeles, DGM (Korean for “Back Alley”) is the kind of dig where you can share a pitcher of beer, smoke a cigarette (yes, you can smoke there) and wait for your memory-dealer to show up with a mechanized stripper with a fake snake. Or not.
